Helen Rickard – Southville Sales & Lettings Team
Title… Officially I’m a member of the Sales & Lettings team but unofficially my colleagues call me The Gatekeeper!
What do you do? I get the best of both worlds as I help look after all our landlord’s whose properties we love to manage and all of our tenant’s, which also involves sorting out any problems or maintenance issues they may have.
Joined Edwards: I can’t quite believe it has gone so quickly as I’m now in my third year at Edwards.
What makes Edwards? Our fantastic team of course!
How long have you been in Bristol? I moved to Bristol in 1995.
Just one thing you love about Bristol…
“…seeing the SS Great Britain reminds me of my childhood. 35 years ago when she was first brought into dry dock, I donated my 50 pence pocket money to help with the restoration!”
Top life tip: before heading out on a journey go to the toilet whether you want one or not, it helps eliminate traffic jams.
Most memorable moment so far: Leaving the Southville office so enthusiastically to pop to our new Filton office to organise the launch party, but as I stepped out to cross the road outside the office I dropped my keys and watched in horror as they went down the drain. Unfortunately it wasn’t an empty drain but was full of disgusting dirty water and lots of rubbish. It took the lovely guys opposite half hour of dredging to rescue them. I can laugh about it now but didn’t then!
Dream property: Anywhere as long as I am with the one I love, but ideally a Victorian terrace with all the period feature of that time. I’m lucky that I have both.
Fun fact: The best cure for stopping hiccups is to get someone else to place their hands over your ears so you can’t hear, it confuses your senses and the hiccups stop.
